Jiu Jitsu has an incredible number of things to learn - which is one of the reasons it can take years to achieve a new belt rank. There’s just so many things to learn: top game, bottom game, sweeps, guard passes, pins, leg entanglements, submissions, submission defense, takedowns, tactics, and strategy are all required to be an effective high-level grappler.
If you find yourself confused, overwhelmed, frustrated, stuck, losing motivation to keep training (i.e. the “blue-belt blues”), or just want to accelerate your progress: consider a Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals lesson.
During a Fundamentals lesson your Black belt instructor will assess where you’re at in your Jiu Jitsu journey and provide you with the advice, perspectives, and techniques you need to keep improving. Alternatively, we’re happy to let you guide the lesson and work on specific techniques or positions of your choosing.
